ALOHA

Fifteen years of my life were dedicated to movement, dance. After graduating college, I searched for something that tested my skillset and still allowed for fluid movement, balance, and poise. Yoga. You're probably thinking, "You're a dancer, so you're flexible. Yoga is easy for you." False. I may have the advantage of flexibility and poise, but I had to learn how to create stability, foster strength, and acquire togetherness. Yoga is more than a pose. It is embodying your practice in the mind, body, and spirit. How do you approach each moment? What is your intention for your practice? Are you still breathing? Are you on the mat or reading your mental to-do list? Okay, you've got an awesome shoulderstand, but what did it take to get you there?

Nothing has ever taught me patience like yoga. Being in the mindset that yoga begins at the very point in which you start your practice, means every day creates a new perspective, fold, challenge, and feat. My journey has been vivacious and tumultuous to where I have learned to engage in life using yoga to explore the functionality of my mind, body, and spirit as a beautiful coalescence.

Living in the matrix can be quite heavy, so remember: “do not try and bend the spoon. That’s impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth…. That it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.”

peace & love
